The U21 Health Sciences Group 2026 Annual Meeting will be held on 23-26 November 2026 in Hong Kong, at the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine (“HKUMed”) of The University of Hong Kong.
HKUMed is the oldest institution of higher education in Hong Kong, China and is well-known as a pioneer in medical education, training and research, while proudly upholding a reputation for morality, vision and care.
Themed “Adaptive Intelligence: Reshaping Health Education and Practice in a Culturally Diverse World”, HKUMed’s strategic location in Hong Kong - both as Asia’s premier international hub and as a gateway to China - facilitates global exchange on the synergy of AI with human expertise for future healthcare delivery while respecting cultural diversity and addressing global health challenges.

“Adaptive Intelligence:
Reshaping Health Education and Practice in a Culturally Diverse World”
Theme Summary:
The integration of artificial intelligence into healthcare represents one of the most transformative developments of the 21st century. Understanding how adaptive intelligence—the synergy of AI with human expertise—can reshape education and practice across health disciplines is crucial for future healthcare delivery.
Adaptive intelligence offers opportunities to enhance clinical decision-making and transform health education while presenting challenges in cultural responsiveness, ethical implementation, and equitable access. Cultural contexts significantly influence both the acceptance and effectiveness of these technologies, with disparities potentially widening the global health divide.
This theme is relevant to all health disciplines—including medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, public health, biomedical sciences, biomedical engineering, Chinese Medicine and other related fields—as we prepare for a technological future that respects diverse healthcare traditions and knowledge systems. The meeting will emphasize cross-disciplinary dialogue and global knowledge-sharing, creating platforms for health professionals and educators to co-design strategies that bridge disciplinary silos and cultural boundaries.
