Eligibility
Penultimate or final year medical undergraduate study at the time of the placement. Incoming students on placements are required to have completed their clinical training before undertaking an elective with Edinburgh teaching hospitals.
Duration
4 weeks. Placements usually begin on the first Monday of the month, with one department only.
Application deadline
Students applying as part of the U21 HSG MCPP will need to be confirmed six months in advance of the placement starting. This is to have sufficient time for pre-arrival checks and confirm the placements with supervisors. If you are a U21 HSG student, it is recommended to apply with at least six months’ leeway.
