The 2025 SDG Student Workshop organised by members of the U21 HSG Sustainable Development Goals Initiative Group and University College Dublin (UCD) will be held from 12 - 13 June 2025 at the UCD College of Health and Agricultural Science

We're so excited that students have the opportunity to come together in person to expand networks, learn about One Health and Sustainability and collaborate on group projects.

Students who join will learn about topics such as:

  • Cervical cancer elimination

  • Global HIV epidemic: Achievements and Current Challenges in Treatment, Prevention and Cure

  • One Health literacy

  • Environmental health and the impact on animal health and human health

Students will also be working in groups on case studies that enhance knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals and making group presentations to conclude the workshop.

Eligibility:

All students registered in Health, Food and Agricultural Sciences, and Veterinary courses including courses such as Nursing and Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Medicine, Vet Medicine, Agricultural Food Science, Public Health, Radiography and Biomedical Health and Life Sciences can register. This workshop will be more suitable for undergraduate students in their second to fourth year of study. Any staff at U21 HSG affiliated institutions in the UK, and abroad, can also join in person.

The objectives are:

  • To facilitate a forum for students, health professionals and teaching staff to engage in discussions and group-based case-studies around the themes outlined in the U21 HSG SDG Initiative Group manifesto. Previous SDG student workshops have taken place in Nottingham (2024), Dublin (2019) and virtually (2022).
