U21 HSG Virtual Annual Meeting 2020, University College Dublin

25th - 28th August 2020

This year’s U21 Health Sciences Group Virtual Annual Meeting was hosted by University College Dublin, College of Health and Agriculture Science.   The programme of events featured online presentations, live panel discussions, and interactive workshops on the theme of 'One Health: A Collaborative Approach to Health'. 

Forum topics included 'Societal Impacts of COVID-19', 'Food and the Environment' and 'Antimicrobial Resistance'.

We were joined by an outstanding line-up of speakers, including Professor Ken Winkle, University of Melbourne who presented on ‘Health and the Environment’, Professor Melrose Stewart, University of Birmingham who discussed the topic of ‘Race and Health’ and Prof Jonna Mazet, UC Davis who will gave a talk on ‘Next Generation’ as part of our 'COVID19: Training for future pandemics' session. Professor Barbara Dooley, UCD gave a Project Update and Implementation presentation on last year's meeting's theme: 'University Mental Health'.

Alongside these presentations we also also ran our regular sessions that form part of the meeting including, the Doctoral Student Forum, the Teaching Excellence Award Winners Workshop, the Sustainable Development Goals Group Forum and the Interprofessional Education Group Forum.
