The Universitas 21 Health Sciences Group is a unique global university network of Health Sciences staff and students that includes members from 18 universities worldwide, and a collaborative group of Universitas 21.

We provide Health Sciences Faculty of member universities a framework for exploring opportunities for:

▶ collaborative research

▶ information exchange

▶ and sharing of resources.

Our group includes the discipline areas of Dentistry, Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, Pharmacy and Public Health.

As a collaborative network, we work together on numerous interdisciplinary projects and activities for both staff and students of relevance to the Health Sciences with a focus on global health issues.


2019 Winners announced for the U21 HSG Teaching Excellence Award

We have great pleasure in announcing that this year’s U21 HSG Teaching Excellence Award goes to Dr César Alberto Lucio Ramirez, Paediatrics and Global Health Professor from Tecnológico de Monterrey and Dr Lawrence Grierson from McMaster University.

Congratulations and we look forward to César and Lawrence’s joint workshop that they will present at the next U21 HSG Annual Meeting in Dublin!

Global Learning Partnership 2020 - Applications open

Applications are now open for students across the U21 HSG network to apply for the Global Learning Partnership programme taking place again in partnership with the Kathmadu University School of Medical Sciences, Nepal in March 2020.

The GLP is a unique 4 week programme that aims to bring together staff and students from across the network to learn and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through an international partnership and shared learning activities, the GLP generates mutually beneficial educational experiences for participants focused around the SDGs, leadership, building community capacity and advocacy.

Gender Based Violence team launch online resource

The Gender Based Violence Project team have officially launched an interactive online learning resource that aims to provide pre-qualifying training to health and social care students to help tackle Gender Based Violence.

The team, including members from the universities of Birmingham, Melbourne, Nottingham, Auckland and Glasgow have worked on a collaborative project over the last 12 months to combine evidence on the subject of GBV educational strategies for health care students which has resulted in the online resource.

This open access online learning tool explores GBV and provides health and social care students with information about the issue, as well as containing real life experiences from survivors of gender based violence.
