The Teaching Excellence Award is a way to celebrate and reward exceptional educational scholarship across the U21 HSG network. The award aims to nurture international cooperation — one of U21’s key objectives — by offering faculty from different universities and regions, and ideally different disciplines, an opportunity to work together on exciting, interdisciplinary projects.

APPLY OR NOMINATE SOMEONE!

The U21 HSG 2024 Teaching Excellence Awards is open for application until Thursday 20 June 2024.

What does the Award offer?

As well as the prestige of winning the award, the award offers the two winners funding to attend the U21 HSG 2025 Annual Meeting where they will be required to work together to facilitate an educational workshop. The location and time of the 2025 Annual Meeting will be announced later in 2024. Travel costs of awardees will be covered by U21 Health Sciences.

Who is it aimed at?

The award is principally aimed at academics across the U21 HSG network. It offers winners a fantastic opportunity to develop new collaborations, to work internationally and to share their joint expertise with others.

To be considered for the award, they must be faculty or instructors in one of the U21 HSG member universities and hold a position with a significant component of teaching. They are expected to have had 5-10 years of teaching experience.

How to apply?

Those interested will need to contact the 2024 Teaching Excellence Award representative from their university to understand the process. Only one nomination per university can be put forward.

The list of representatives can be found here.

All final applications should be sent on or before 20 June 2024 to Alicia Lui, U21 HSG Operations Manager, via email at alicia22@hku.hk.

Nomination process

Each university will have their own internal nomination, review process and timelines. If you’re an applicant, it’s best to check with your university representative.
