U21 HSG Annual Meeting in Birmingham

The 2016 Universitas 21 Health Sciences Group Annual Meeting will be hosted by the University of Birmingham on 12-16 September 2016. Information about the program, speakers, venue, etc. is available at www.u21health.org/birmingham-2016. We strongly encourage delegates to register for the event as soon as possible. Delegates should also try to book their accommodation early to avoid disappointment. The University of Birmingham recommends the Macdonald Burlington Hotel. Reservations should be made by contacting the hotel directly.

Doctoral Student Forum
25 students from 10 universities sent their abstracts to participate in the U21 HS Doctoral Student Forum hosted by the University of Birmingham on Monday 12 September. 12 abstracts were accepted for oral presentations and 24 for poster presentation. The program of the forum is available on our website.

Discipline group meetings
U21 Discipline Leads are currently working with their counterparts at the University of Birmingham to come up with agendas for each discipline group meeting on Wednesday 14 September in the afternoon. Preliminary agendas will be sent shortly to each group to get feedback.

U21 Health Sciences Summer School in Santiago

The Faculty of Medicine of Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile will be hosting the 3rd U21 Health Sciences Summer School on 11-23 July 2016. 32 students from 12 universities will attend this 2-week program on 'Early Critical Windows of Preventive Interventions'. The program includes lectures, workshops and visits to clinical facilities, as well as city tours of Santiago and Valparaiso. We look forward to hearing more about students' experiences. U21 Health Sciences Teaching Excellence Award 2016

Nine nominations were received for the 2016 U21 Health Sciences Teaching Excellence Award. Thank you to all participating universities. The selection committee is now in the process of reviewing nominations and winners will be informed of their selection by 15 August 2016.
