U21 Medical Placements for 2016 available

Since 2014, U21 medical students have had the opportunity to do a 4 to 12 weeks elective in a U21 partner medical school through the U21 Medical Clinical Placement Program. 17 students took advantage of this great program in 2014 and placements have started in 2015. Participating U21 universities have now made available their placements for 2016 on the U21 HS website. Students should be reminded that they need to complete the U21 certification form available on the website before applying to any placement through this program.

U21 International Peer Review Workshop

With funding provided by the Educational Innovation cluster, a U21 International Peer Review in Education Workshop was held on 17-18 December 2014 at the University of Hong Kong. The workshop built on the work by Dr Karen Gardner from UBC’s Faculty of Dentistry, that was recognized by a U21 Award in 2012. The goals of the workshop were to capitalize and expand on the work by members of the U21 Health Sciences Group and establish a collaborative, cross-institutional project targeting enhancement of students’ international experiences and global citizenship through online engagement. Outcomes will be further developed during the U21 Deans' of Education meeting in Chicago in April. A full report of the workshop will appear on the U21 website shortly.
