The Universitas 21 Health Sciences Group is a unique global university network of Health Sciences staff and students that includes members from 20 universities worldwide, and a collaborative group of Universitas 21.
We provide Health Sciences Faculty of member universities a framework for exploring opportunities for:
▶ collaborative research
▶ information exchange
▶ and sharing of resources.
Our group includes the discipline areas of: Dentistry, Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, Pharmacy, Public Health and Biomedical Sciences.
As a collaborative network, we work together on numerous interdisciplinary projects and activities for both staff and students of relevance to the Health Sciences with a focus on global health issues.

2024 Interprofessional Education International Student Challenge
Applications are open until 26 April 2024 to all health sciences students from U21 HSG member institutions. The theme for this year is “Health, Data, and Climate: Looking For Solutions in Health Care”.

Join the hybrid symposium on university mental health needs!
The U21 University Mental Health Group is launching a series of online symposiums to exchange ideas about the implementation of the 5 principles of the U21 University Mental Health Declaration. The first online symposium will be held on 26 April 2024.
You will hear from students and staff at the different U21 member institutions.
2024 U21 HSG Funding Opportunities now open!
Application deadline: Friday 21 June 2024
The three funding opportunities are:
- International Projects Fund
- Research Development Fund
- Student Research Fund
2024 Teaching Excellence Award: Open for Applications / Nominations
This award targets faculty / instructors with 5 to 10 years of teaching experience. It celebrates and rewards exceptional educational scholarship across the U21 HSG network.
Two recipients will receive funding to attend the U21 HSG 2025 Annual Meeting where they will facilitate a joint workshop.
Calling for Abstracts for the 2024 Doctoral Student Forum
The U21 HSG 2024 Doctoral Student Forum is hosted on 26 August 2024 in conjunction with the U21 HSG 2024 Annual Meeting.
Doctoral students from member institutions are invited to submit an abstract to present their work. Submissions relevant to the theme of “Data Driven Health Care and Teaching” will be prioritised. Deadline: 25 March 2024.

U21 HSG Annual Meeting 2023 was a success!
The 2023 U21 Health Sciences Group Annual Meeting was hosted successfully by Lund University from 28 August to 1 September.
The theme of this year’s meeting was Climate Change and Health. We’ll see you in 2024!
